Africa Climate Foundation (ACF) is dedicated to tackling climate change and advancing sustainable development across Africa. Through targeted sectoral, regional, and national interventions, their work strengthens efforts at the nexus of climate and development, driving long-term socio-economic transformation and inclusive growth across the continent.

The Project

To strengthen a critical, high-priority operational unit it supports, ACF required a Senior Human Resource (HR) Expert to build a fully contextualised HR framework, enabling effective scaling and execution of a major national mandate.

Key Deliverables:

Phase 1 (4 months) Foundational Design: Conducted a full organizational audit (including job fit, competencies, compensation, and compliance) and designed the core HR framework, including remuneration policy, role profiles, and performance management systems.
Phase 2 – ongoing at the time of publishing this case (7 months): Operational Implementation : Transitioned to hands-on HR management, supporting full-cycle recruitment, managing contracts and onboarding, operationalizing the performance system, and serving as the strategic HR liaison between the unit and ACF.
